This is my first blog post at Wet Nose Central! (Or anywhere else, for that matter!)
Why Did You Do This?
Having this website up online is very exciting for me. For some time, I’ve wanted to write a blog/have a website, but fear (that I’d screw it up) and (not enough time because of) work got in the way. Well, I’m retired now, so I can’t fall back on that. As to fear, I’ve heard it kills more dreams than failure ever will.
So, here I am, facing the fear, and focusing on my favorite subject: Dogs. I love dogs, and, like I said, I’m retired now, so I have plenty of time. As far as screwing up, I’m just gonna be myself. Best I can do.
Favorite Friends
I named this site WetNoseCentral because my favorite creatures usually have wet noses. It is an homage to the fact that canines’ sense of smell is, like, a million times greater than ours, and that a wet nose helps them get and hold onto scents. I hope to emulate that in my ability to “root out” information – from everywhere – and share it with you from this Central spot.
My Goal
My goal is to find and share with you, on a weekly basis, every speck of information I can about our Best Friends. Every breed. Every size. From puppy to “gramma and grampa.” Since I’m a Senior, I’ll also be keeping an eye out for doggie matters pertaining to us. When I discover something interesting on the Web – or anywhere else – I will find a way to mention it and (hopefully) link to it here. If I can’t link it, I’ll write about it. In any case, I intend to provide real value and enjoyment.
Other Stuff
O.K. Transparency! I don’t have a dog. Not anymore, anyway. One of my downstairs neighbors complained to the owner of the building where I live that I had a dog, and he made me ‘’get rid of it.” I’ll tell you more about that in another post. For now, I’ll have to satisfy myself with living vicariously, talking/writing about dogs. I’m also considering volunteering at the shelter not too far from where I live.
Despite the fact that I AM NOT TECHY, I put this site up myself! (Literally, I FREEZE when faced with the prospect of something like that!) One of my goals is to have a site that is simple to use (for you and me), where once or twice a week I can share up-to-date information, and please visitors. I want to learn how to do whatever is necessary to make WetNoseCentral.com a place where you find good information, have fun and want to visit as often as you can.
I’m so excited to finally have this website up and running! It’s like I just moved into a new home and you’re my guest. I really hope you enjoy this visit and come see me regularly.

I will be scouring the Net, libraries and other places for info about Dogs to share with you, AND I will be learning how to run a website that you will love.
